This is not so much a recipe, but a set of loose guidelines to follow when faced with the realisation that you are supposed to be providing "a plate" for afternoon tea at a playgroup that starts in about an hour...
Step One - forget the oven
Step Two - check the pantry for cereal
Step Three - put the cereal and whatever else you can find in a bowl
Step Four - bind it together with melted chocolate of any kind (block, bars, chips, dark, milk, white, whatever) then squish it into a lined cake tin
Step Five - Put it in the fridge for 20 minutes
Step Six - Chop it up - non square bits are for the "chef" - there will be lots!
Step Seven - Arrange on a plate and be all "it was no trouble, anytime"
Crisis averted!
Here is what I made mine from, but just about everything could be substituted (I wouldn't use Weet-Bix, though)!
2 cups Rice Bubbles
1 cup dried cranberries
1/4 cup desiccated coconut
1/4 cup slivered almonds
400g white chocolate melts
Enjoy!

You must work well under pressure Nic. A slice that looks that good in under an hour......very clever!
Oh nice save!! That looks delicious & so easy, I love that!
Smarty pants!
Well that looks sensational...however the chance of me finding uneaten chocolate lying around in my cupboard? Zero!
nice one!! i have done something similar too!
Great recipe!! I love things that are quick and easy :)
Clever girl! I am so going to steal that. Only my slice would be dark chocolate.
