Tea towels are a fantastic medium for any designer. The serve a traditional and practical function (as a dryer of dishes), but they are also a canvas for artistic expression. At the most basic level, tea towels are a lovely piece of fabric .... which means that you can do almost anything with them if you think outside the square. That's what Michelle from
Poppy, Bean and Bloss did with a couple of my
Red Vintage Tram Roll Menu tea towels - she used them to cover a light shade for her kitchen. How very cool!
I just love this picture from
Michelle's blog post on this project - utter deconstruction. What a brave crafter!
Have a great Friday!

That is cool! x
What a great idea. I certainly love the tea towel I have bought from you and can't wait to put it on the wall in my kitchen once the reno is over.
I saw these when she posted them and just loved how she used them. Brave indeed, though, as I would've struggled to make that first cut!
Fabulous. There would have been a little sad tear in my eye as I cut into them and a happy tear when I saw the finished result!! :)
what a great project! clever crafting
Definitely both clever and brave. I doubt I would have had the courage to do that, but what a great result!
