Choosing colours to print is one of the most enjoyable parts of being a designer ... except when you can't decide!! Here are some colour choices I'm playing with at the moment for my two new designs (I plan to print each design in a couple of colours) ...
I'm happy with the blues - I want a darker one (either a navy or a royal blue) and a pale blue. I also think I'll stay with a shade of red - perhaps more crimson this time for spring, rather than the fire engine red I have used in the past (the sample at the end). It's the green that proving the tricky one. I chose this colour a few weeks ago - it's kind of a light sea green. I originally imagined something lighter than this, but now that I see it on fabric I don't mind how it works with the blues. My other line of thinking is more of a grass green - stronger and brighter. We've been discussing green on facebook, and someone made the very interesting comment that choosing a shade of green is difficult because the light and time of year have such an impact on this very organic colour.
Green? Which green? or No green? - this is the dilemma! I'm looking forward to your thoughts ...

I love that colour green. I personally think if you went too grass green it would clash with the other colours. I personally love a more muted olive green but that too would clash here. I think this is a great colour, it is muted enough to not be in your face, but it is light and fresh enough to be fun and uplifting... hope I make sense...
Green is my FAVOURITE colour - goes with everything! I've always been drawn to the muddy colours of the 1930-40's. Good luck!
I'm loving the three middle colours together- aqua, duck egg blue and crimson... gorgeous.
I quite like that bright greeny aqua you have there -it's a very similar colour a the shelf in my sewing room. The new palette looks very exciting!
I love that aqua green too... and I think it works well with the other colours your thinking of using :)
I think aqua green will be perfect! The turquoise is in fashion this Spring as well;)
That light blue green is one of my favourite colours! All those colours could mix and match I think. :)
