{ new } vintage green australia market bag

Sometimes colour inspiration comes from unlikely places :: in the case of this lovely, vintage green, it was from an old tin lid. It seemed appropriate to print something Australian. Vintage green Australia Market Bags are in the Yardage Design online shop now for a limited time …

happy days + lovely pics

Nothing makes me happier as a designer and a business owner, than to see my products being enjoyed. It's even better when I get to see lovely pics like these ...

Note ~ Deanne bought a misprinted market bag in the Yardage Design mid-year sale last year
(just explaining the print imperfections!)

vintage ice coupons

It's Spring at last ... sadly, you would never know it today in Melbourne as it is raining quite heavily. Nevermind, it's technically Spring, and I'm going with that! To celebrate, I'm launching a new market bag design, with a warmer weather theme, based on some vintage ice coupons I found a while ago ...

I have printed these in a lovely teal blue, and they are in the shop now.

In other news, the vintage tram roll menu market bags have sold out (amazing response - thanks everyone!), but I will be printing more today, so they should be back in the shop next week.

I hope the first day of Spring (or Autumn) is lovely where-ever you are.

thing-a-ma-jig making + using

My creative space this week has involved making and using this ...

I love large, sturdy, gussetted shoulder bags (with long straps) to carry my groceries etc, but they were impossible to print nicely without a thing-a-ma-jig - a raised printing platform that I adpated from something similar I saw here. A bit of measuring, some mdf, a few bits of timber I had in the shed, some screws and leftover felt, and I was in business. It doesn't look very pretty, but it works beautifully so that now I can easily, and consistently, print these new bags ...

Artichoke Market Bags (made from hemp/cotton fabric) now in the shop
