reading material

This is what I'm reading at the moment ...
Oh Comely ~ a cool mag about creativity and quirkiness that I picked up in London
The Friday Night Knitting Club by Kate Jacobs ~ chick lit with a crafty plot about a woman who owns a yarn store in New York. I'm really enjoying it - no thinking required!
Gardens Illustrated ~ a British garden mag with the most beautiful photography. I bought this in London too, but I buy this mag at home in Australia regularly.
Mollie Makes ~ the new "it" craft mag ~ lovely! The new edition was released yesterday ... pity there are currently no stockists in Spain!!
Smoke ~ a "london peculiar" ~ stories celebrating modern London. Edgy, alternative, interesting - I enjoyed reading it.
Black Cab Wisdom ~ a small tome of pearls collected by a London cabbie from his passengers ... "if you think your life is bland, then you haven't added enough flavour", and "you are the pink flamingo on the great lawn of life". Genius!

What have you loved reading lately?

what i'm reading at the moment ...

Driving over Lemons ... written by a witty Englishman who buys a (very) peasant farm in the south of Spain. Loving the stories of rural life, subsistence living and learning on the hop - very amusing and worth a read!

selvedge magazine ... the latest copy of my favourite textiles magazine arrived in the post yesterday. I haven't devoured it all yet, but the article on vintage clothes pegs was wonderful (and obtuse!).

The World ... trying to teach Mr 4 about distance, countries and the world. It's been ages since I've looked at a map like this (or an atlas for that matter), so it's been fun finding "new" and unfamiliar countries.

What are you reading? Hope your Wednesday is shaping up just how you like it!

new mags!

I was in the city the other day and stopped in at mag nation (my reading material mecca!) and found these two gems ...

extra curricular is another great little craft mag from New Zealand. It's packed full of brilliant interviews with crafters of all sorts - really interesting and practical stuff. Beautifully photographed too. This is one of my new faves! You can check out their lovely blog here.

My other find was It's nice that, which is a magazine version of a UK design blog - lots of illustrators and other interesting artists. I really enjoy reading about other people talents and inpirations. Love this one too!

Aside from a bit of reading, it's all been about packaging up Christmas orders from my shop and presents - this is a job I really enjoy - super satisfying!

Have a great Tuesday!

I'm investigating postage at the moment, and was happy to find this at the Post Office this morning ...

Magazines make me smile too - I am addicted! Hope you're having a lovely Tuesday!
