first day back in the studio for 2010

It felt like the first day back at work, but in a really good way. I've missed my little space, which is now all dry and back to normal after the flooding before Christmas. As a bit of gesture of the new year, I finally got around to sewing up the cushions for my ebay bargain cane chairs that I painted red a while ago ...

I printed ARTichokes in red onto some apple green gingham - the photo doesn't really show how vibrant the combo is, but it brightens up the "seating area" (ha ha) nicely!

My cushion also tied in well to todays work, which involved more gingham ...

... I'll sew this baby up over the weekend and then show and tell! Hope you've had a good Friday.

What a great days work! I LOVE the artichoke on the red and white gingham. The hard lines do something magical to the round drawn ones. Looking forward to seeing what it becomes. Have a brilliant weekend.

How great to feel like the first day back at work AND being happy about it. I can almost hear the excitment in your voice Nic. I hope that lots of wonderfully exciting things happen for you and Yardage Design this year.

what IS it about artichokes. I just love the look of them. They look so prehistoric and like little peices of sculpture... your drawings are fantastic.

Wow, that is stunning, gorgeous colour combination & style. I'm getting back to real work today too, it's hard, i've just enjoyed playing with the children but must get back to work. It's tidy, so i have head start. Love Posie

What a great idea to brighten up your space! Nothing like a bit of gingham to bring a little comfort to the place.
