a fairy floss induced sewing spree

Mr Yardage went to the football last night, and Little Mister was so tired after the Show that he was asleep early, leaving me rare, quiet time to sew. Sugared up on fairy floss, I made this top from start to finish ...

I am real square neck fan, so I was keen to try the New Look 6356 pattern out. I used just under a metre of my Swizzle fabric in teal. It's a pretty simple pattern, with just a small zipper at the back. The whole thing took about 3 hours to sew (in between a bit of blogging and fairy floss). Once I'd finished it, I realised that I'd forgotten to sew one of my new labels into it ... bugger! Anyway, it was just so nice to start and finish something in the same sitting - I can't remember the last time I did that and made something just for me. Hope your Sunday is a good one!

I really like square necklines too... how lovely to have a bit of sewing time (and even better having fairy floss)!

Lovely! What a beautiful neckline. New Look have some really great designs.

(I usually fuel-up on chocolate for my sewing!)

Very sweet. I've forgotten to sew in labels before too - just hand-sew one in. x

Extra time is a great thing and hard to get with little ones. I love the teal and white very refreshing, just right for Spring, if that sun ever decides to come out!

I often forget to sew in my labels! Glad you got some good time in. I like the Yardage Design sign there, too.

Beautiful. I like to finish what I start, too. Usually don't get back to it for a while if I don't. Looks great in the fabric....Terese

Now thats my kind of sewing spree - the fairy floss would really be helping me along on the concentration front. I love your top, its super sweet, and in your very own fabric. Tres cool!

Lovely! I reckon something empire line waisted, a la the Bennet girls in Pride and Prej, would come up a treat in swizzle!
