my creative space ... martha

My creative space this week has been largely confined to my desk where I've been busy finishing some design ideas ...

However, while testing some designs on paper, I played around with a new MARTHA purchase - do you know what it is ...

... if you guessed circular cutter, you'd be right! (from Spotlight incase you're interested)

It cuts beautiful circles, so I've been making some little gift tags out of the draft prints I've been doing (on thin card) - it's very theraputic!

In other creativity ... my friend Pam from Pippi Creates, made this cute hat for Little Mister - he calls it his "special car hat" (because it's lined with car fabric - it's reversible too) and hasn't taken it off since he got it - thanks Pam! Pam sews beautiful kids clothing and accessories - check out her blog here.

I hope your week has been creative too. To check out other creative spaces, or to add your own to the pile, visit Kootoyoo.

I've been looking for a circular cutter too. Do you think it would cut through vinyl?

hmmm, I should have gone with Martha! I bought a fiskars cutter and unless the blades go blunt awfully quickly it cut about 10 nice perfect circles then starting tearing at my paper!!grr I do love a good recommendation - thanks :-)

I have never seen anything like that circle cutter before! And I must admit I harbor a love of all things Martha. :) Love the hat too. How patient are some people? Being able to make hats! Very clever.

Oh man I am such a sucker for the whole MS section at Spotlight! I once walked out with four canisters of glitter - and I HATE glitter! I love your circles. Maybe they're like mandalas in terms of creativity?

Lovely things as always over here, pretty pretty. It's always such a surprise to find Martha & Heather in Spotlight, most stores are poorly laid out, unclean & untidy, then a piece of duck egg blue paradise, beautiful blooms or fantastic accessories appears!!
I've been trying to leave a comment for 12 hours (internet connectivity issues) so well worth the wait - just didn't want to bring up blogs!! Love Posie

I've been thinking about buying a circular cutter for a wee while and well, you've sold it to me! It looks pretty cool and love the patterned circles you've made, so pretty.

I am still trying to get my head around Martha and Spotlight. Imagine the look of Quelle Horreur! if the Master of the Crafty Homemaker ever actually ventured into a store...

Cath @ chunkychooky said...

I am laughing at Tanias comment above - I thought the same... its just not matchy matchy enought for Martha- I wonder if she knows... anyway... I ( no surprise really) did not know of such a fantastical tool - i cannot cut circles very nicely- does it actually slice them? More info please...

WOW. That circle thing looks amazing. I have NO idea how it works, but I want me one!! :-) If it's ever here at the studio with you, would you mind shouting out? I'd love to come and play for a bit to see whether I should get one :-) Your gift tags are gorgeous and making me jealous!! xxx
