home sweet home

Almost a year to the day since we left to begin our adventure in Spain, we are back. The past year has been amazing, challenging, full of opportunities and enriching. But, we are very glad to be home in Melbourne. For Yardage Design, this means that there will be lots happening, and I can't wait! There are markets booked for later in the year, new designs and products in the works, and in the next few days our huge annual sale to clear the decks. There will be more about the sale in the Yardage Design e-newsletter later in the week, but safe to say that there will be some bargain misprints and samples, along with some discounted and discontinued fabrics up for grabs.

So what do buttons have to do with all of this? Well, this is part of my small collection of vintage glass buttons that I've collected over the years. They are like little jewels that clink together sweetly when I sift through them. I was looking at them last night for the first time in ages and it reminded me again how nice it is to be home. Amongst other things, I missed my stuff!

Thanks to all of you who followed my travels, photography and crafting here and there over the last year ~ I have appreciated your interest and enthusiasm!

Have a lovely week!

Hooray! It's wonderful to travel, but oh so good to come home too. I remember a customs man with a really thick Aussie accent saying "welcome home luv," after I'd been travelling overseas for six months. I'd never met him before, but I nearly burst into tears! :)
