vintage tea towel bag

I've had a few vintage tea towels floating around for a while. One in particular has been tagged for my sister, so I thought I would use Curly Pop's tutorial and make a bag out of it for her birthday.

Cam's instructions are super clear, and the whole project took about an hour. The only thing I altered was the length of the straps (from 50cm to 65cm) so it was easy to carry over one shoulder.

Thanks Cam!

Noice.

I likey! I especially like that the 1977 is so prominent - is that when your sister was born...?

It looks very nice, Nic. I hope she likes it! I would also alter the length of the strap too cuz I like it long. Thanks for your comment on my blog btw. Cheers! X

I love how you have used a calendar teatowel-the ones that stay mint but you hate to use for its intended purpose once it is 'past date'. I have all sorts of Australian teatowels that I want to try with this tutorial. Thanks for the strap insight.

Woohoo it looks fantastic, and I love the way that you've pimped up the straps with a bit of special embroidery. That's a fantastic birthday pressie.
I've been dragging mine around since I made it, and I noticed today that it's really about time that the penguins headed off to laundry for a wash!
