my creative space ... and giveaway!

I've been inspired by my latest ebay bargain - some vintage shelf runners ...

So I've been playing with some rows of canisters ... perhaps for printing onto the bottom of tea-towels or aprons ... here are a few options so far ...

Seems I might be a bit sugar deficient (NOT!). I like the idea of using a traditional font with non-traditional words/contents on each of the canisters. Hmmmm ... any other suggestions? There will be a surprise giveaway for the best suggestion - put your thinking caps on and have fun with it! I'll draw a winner on Sunday night at 9pm (eastern daylight savings time).

WOW! These designs will look absolutely fantastic. Love the embroidered trim - that was a real find. I think I'd go with the traditional - it speaks to everyone... you know, flour, sugar, tea, coffee, salt etc. Have fun with this :) K

I like the traditional ones, sugar, flour, salt etc. It's stuff we all know and use. They look gorgeous.

Cool and hip and retro. Love it!

You could stick with the traditional names - but position the letters..perhaps a circle, square, diagonally across...OR NOT.
You could have a word on each canister to form a sentence. for example
"Your smile is Thanks enough"
or
"I prefer my days sunny"...
You get the general idea....

You come up with the best designs ... that looks fantastic! How about the staples ... sugar, flour, rice, tea and chocky? :)

I love your idea! Personally, I would get a kick out of the traditional Flour, Sugar, Rice, Tea and Coffee canisters, although you can't beat the vintage Pyrex 'Crackers' and 'Cookies' barrels either.

They're gorgeous, I think they'll look great on tea towels. I too like the trad names but with a twist - I like Liesl's idea, so I won't pinch it I'll just say Vote One Liesl!!
