new market bag :: fabric 'stash

Presenting the Yardage Design version of the 'stash ...

My 'stashes are pretty and patterned and NEON pink! Yep, ticking all the boxes people! Do you think my 'stashes look like kissing birds? Some people do, and I think they might be right.

I am really loving the pink neon ink at the moment, but it is so difficult to photograph the vividness, so you'll have to take my word for it that this design is lovely and FLUORO!

You will find these bright, handy market bags in the Yardage Design online shop.

Have a fun weekend!

save the date :: OPEN STUDIO!

I'm very excited to be opening my studio (for the first time) along with so many other talented designers at the annual Abbotsford Convent Open Day on Sunday 11 November from 11am to 5pm ...

There will be lots to see and do all over the Convent, and I'd love it if you could pop in to my studio and say "hi" too. I'll be posting more about my open studio over the coming couple of weeks.

Also, I was "showing and telling" over at the flowerpress blog yesterday. Susie does such a wonderful job of interviewing designers and crafters ~ I was thrilled with the result ~ thanks Susie!

Have a great day!

ahead of my time?

Or a happy experiment? Turns out I was printing with neon colours waaaay before they were "on trend"~ see below Vintage Tram Roll design in "highlighter pink" circa 2010! The truth is, I actually like a bit of neon/fluoro ... in small doses. You?

3 years ago today ...

Three years ago today, I registered the business "Yardage Design". It was a big deal ~ a new direction, with a lot of unknowns. But, it felt right. It's been an awesome ride so far, and one I'm keen to continue.

Thankyou to everyone who has tagged along for the journey and supported Yardage Design ~ it has been a wonderful way to meet people, make new friends, get inspired and enjoy designing. Today, I am back in my new studio at the Abbotsford Convent, getting everything ready for some big printing sessions next week (including a new fabric design!).

Have a great weekend!

P.S. This is also my 600th post ~ who'd have thunk it!

the home stretch ...

Yep, for those with kids, you'll know what I mean. Don't get me wrong, I actually love the school holidays for the lack of routine, early starts and "school stuff" in general. It's nice to just have time together doing whatever ... like painting blue crocodiles!

BUT ... It's also kinda nice to know that they do end eventually (otherwise they wouldn't be special, would they?) and life will get back to "normal". For me, that means lots of things, but my favourite one is most definitely designing and printing!

Anyway, as the holidays draw to a close, the Yardage Design online shop has reopened. What are you planning to do once school goes back (if you have kids) or next week (if you don't)? I have a new fabric design to print as soon as I can finally decide on what colour(s) to print it in ~ suggestions welcome!

Hope you're having a great weekend!
